Rediscovering Joy: Finding Your Inner Child and Embracing Life’s Simple Pleasures

In our busy lives, it’s so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day demands and forget to pause, breathe, and just be. I often remind myself of the importance of taking time to “smell the roses”—to slow down and embrace life’s simple pleasures. One of the most meaningful ways I’ve found to do this is by reconnecting with my inner child. Every opportunity I get to see the world through a child’s eyes helps me rediscover joy, shift my perspective, and even grow as a person.

Recently, I had a memorable moment at a local farm. They had set up a colorful, inviting table for a kids’ class, complete with coloring sheets and jumbo crayons. By the time I arrived, the kids had already left, but the table, with its delightful assortment of crayons and sketches, was still there—calling to me. I’ve always loved coloring, and I could hardly resist the sight of those big, chunky crayons. Without a second thought, I sat down, picked up a crayon, and started coloring away.

In those few minutes, I felt a sense of calm and joy wash over me. There were no expectations or goals—just me, some bright colors, and the freedom to create something without worrying if it looked perfect. It reminded me that sometimes, the purest forms of happiness come from the simplest activities. Coloring with those jumbo crayons brought me back to childhood, a time when life was filled with wonder, curiosity, and joy over the smallest things. It was a powerful reminder of how easy it can be to reconnect with that sense of awe.

The Magic of Childlike Curiosity

One of the many things I admire about children is their endless curiosity. They’re constantly exploring, asking questions, and discovering new things with a sense of excitement. As adults, we often lose that curiosity, distracted by the pressures of life. But when we allow ourselves to see the world as children do, even if just for a moment, it can bring about a profound shift in our mood and mindset.

Taking the time to indulge in a simple, joyful activity can help unlock creativity and perspective. Whether it’s grabbing a crayon and coloring a blank page, taking a walk to enjoy nature, or even picking up an eco-friendly greeting card to send a heartfelt message to someone, these small moments can remind us of what truly matters.

Inspired to Bring Joy Through My Brand

My experience at the farm reminded me of why I am passionate about creating eco-friendly products. My greeting cards, apparel, and totes are all designed with simplicity, joy, and sustainability in mind. Just as a child would find joy in small moments, I strive to create items that bring a bit of that lightness into everyday life while respecting our planet.

With each card, cozy sweatshirt, or tote, I hope to spread a sense of mindful living—encouraging others to pause, appreciate, and care for the world around them. Choosing sustainable, eco-friendly items is an extension of the childlike mindset, as kids naturally have a deep curiosity about nature and a desire to protect it.

An Invitation to Rediscover Joy

So, here’s my invitation to you: Take a moment to let yourself play. Don’t wait for the “perfect time” to slow down—just allow yourself to engage in something simple that brings you joy. Go for a walk, color a picture, send a card, or just sit quietly and take in the beauty around you. By reconnecting with your inner child, you might just find a new way of seeing the world, one filled with wonder, joy, and gratitude. And what could possibly be better than that!

With love & Light,
